Posting Summary: The University of Virginia is seeking an IT Audit Manager to establish and execute risk-based audit plans. This position will manage audit projects and project staff to ensure completion of assigned audit schedule, supervise staff including other senior auditors and third parties to ensure the quality of work through evaluation, overseeing the preparation of audit report, and interacting with organizational management regarding the conduct of audits and the content of reports.
The IT Audit Manager may also evaluate system development projects to ensure compliance with the organization's policies and procedures. The position will have responsibility for internal controls and prepare audit reports recommending improvements in controls, operations or systems.
Required Minimum Level of Education: *Degree Required
Required Specific Degree/Training: Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Audit, or related field.
Required Minimum Level of Experience: Some - up to 4 years
Required Specific Experience: No less than 2 years of experience in Information Technology audit and or operations while working for either an internal audit department or external audit entity.
Experience should include performing technical audits in areas such as Windows, UNIX, Oracle, firewall and router/switch technologies, wireless technologies and general controls.
Preferred Minimum Level of Experience: Considerable - 4 to 7 years
Preferred Specific Experience: Experience in Information Technology audit and or operations while working for either an internal audit department or external audit entity.
Required License or Certification: Any one of: CISSP, CISM, CISA, CIA, or other related certification
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Broad knowledge of mainframe, client server technologies to include multiple operating systems, databases, applications, and network architectures. In depth knowledge of security principles and audit methodologies.
Advanced knowledge in information technology hardware and topologies, software, and systems development processes is required.
Strong analytical skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, and strong written and oral communication skills.
