NYU IT, Enterprise Data Management team is seeking a qualified candidate to support, build, and test Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for number of data assets at the University. Candidate will be responsible for Level 2 support, assist in technical development of APIs, and provide development of automated tests for developed APIs. This position will allow the prospective candidate to develop next generation skills with leading industry API management platform.
Required Education: Bachelor in Computer Science or related field
Preferred Education: Educational specialization in API development, data integration, or quality assurance.
Required Experience: 7-8 years’ experience working with API Platform Operations (Must). Ability to resolve reported issues related to API performance, application, and user needs. Ability to translate vague requests and requirements to structured API requests. Experience with developing API tests, testing framework, and test automation. Ability to manage API platform with setting up of Policies, SLA’s, user access provisioning and setup. Ability to analyze and monitor API analytics and reporting. Entrepreneurial Drive Strong communication skills Ability to work in a team Eye for detail and identifying problems
Preferred Experience: 3-5 Experience working with Testing automation and automating quality assurance requirements into code (Good to have)
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Good understanding of various API testing frameworks ie. Behavior-Driven Development testing using languages as gherkin Ability to design testing frameworks for APIs
