The Department of Parking and Transportation at Florida International University is currently seeking an IT Generalist III.
Providing consultation and advice on major implementation IT projects ensuring services are mastered and not compromised while providing technical leadership on integration of various related systems. Provides guidance and training as necessary.
Provides support to the manager of administrative services in identifying, understanding and planning the implementation processes and functionality for all IT related matters and business requirements. Plans for implementation of and ensures compliance with department information security and configuration policies.
Acts as a producer of large projects and draws together complex information technology needs into a single package. Provides networking solutions and integration planning with vendors such as HUB, NuPark, Genetec, Parkeon, PaybyPhone, Transloc. Provides continuous maintenance configurations of system hardware and software such as Integration with NuPark and the comprehensive car count system. Provides support and makes recommendations for the camera systems, mobile radios, repeaters and base station radios.
Leads development projects. Interfaces as necessary with Panthersoft, BDI report, housing permissions citations and DMV for proper system functions of our parking software operating system. Installs hardware component upgrades and replacements.
Responsible for the performance, integrity and security of Parking & Transportation's databases which includes updating existing databases and building new systems and developing queries. Manages the development of plans, schedules and requirement for the deployment and lifecycle of systems. Manages quality control and auditing of databases to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data. Troubleshoots problems regarding the databases, applications and development tools.
Serves as a liaison with the community and interfaces with University organizations to resolve service related issues. Diagnoses system hardware, software and network operation problems and performs corrective procedures. Provides input for financial planning on product replacement and product management and assists with capital infrastructure development and planning regarding the implementation of new technological systems.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technology field and four (4) years of experience in in the field.
Salary Range: $45,000 - $50,000 Commensurate with experience
