The Senior IT Professional I, under general direction, provides technical leadership for the collegeâ™s end-user computing operations, which relies on multiple technical fields. Provides technical oversight for the application of and compliance with the collegeâ™s technical and security standards. Coordinates the technical activities of the end-user support team. Completes reports and summaries for management and users including project status reports, problem reports, and progress summaries.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelorâ™s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years of related experience in system administration and programming.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Powershell programming language knowledge. Desktop administration and security knowledge in Microsoft Windows and Mac desktops.
Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager desktop system management knowledge. Helpdesk management knowledge in Microsoft Active Directory Account Management and Group Policy.
Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment and must have strong interpersonal skills. Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Three to five (3-5) years computer systems management, database management, and/or enterprise data management experience. Two years of software applications development.
Preferred Licenses and Certifications:
Preferred Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Security Compliance Toolkit, Microsoft System Center Operations Manager, and Microsoft Orchestrator.
Serves as a technical lead in research, implementation, and deployment of systems software. Coordinates the installation and maintenance of both critical and non-critical software. Provides technical guidance and project management for new technology initiatives.
Provides technical guidance on monitoring and maintaining system security. Performs risk assessments and risk mitigation plans. Performs electronic information audits to ensure compliance with university standards.
Serves as a user computer account manager. Provides technical guidance for the development of computing plans for unit and customers. Develops equipment and software budget.
Ensures documentation of changes to systems software and the development of entries for a systemâ™s support database. Provides technical oversight and training for conducting research of problems and the formulation of recommended solutions for unit-level services. Resolves configuration system performance issues. Coordinates, designs, and tests disaster recovery plans.
Maintains relative professional development activities to include emerging technologies. Consults with and assists other computing personnel, vendors, and/or manufacturesâ™ representatives in both technology advancement and issue resolution. Serves on unit and college level committees. Performs other related duties as required.
