The Operational Evaluation Division (OED) has an immediate career opening for a Cyber Security Analyst to perform penetration testing and red-teaming activity to identify security vulnerabilities and exposures of selected systems, record information to describe these activities and findings, maintain the security tools necessary for such testing, and provide hands-on training to other members of a test team. Work at IDA is conducted in a team environment and often involves a multi-disciplinary approach.
Specific responsibilities include:
Conduct penetration testing and red-teaming activities of selected system to identify and document vulnerabilities, exposures, and mission effects.
Reports risk posture of information systems
Evaluates new information security technologies
Validates system hardening and provides guidance for security configuration
Evaluates network and system security configuration for risk based access control
Records results of penetration and red-team activity and findings for analysis and reporting
Provides hands-on training to other team members
Other duties as assigned
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline coupled with 8+ years’ experience in cybersecurity penetration or red-team activity; OR a minimum of a high school diploma coupled with 10 + years’ experience in cybersecurity penetration or red-teaming activity.
A minimum of 4+ years’ recent experience (within last 6 years) in penetration testing or red-teaming activities.
An information security DoD Instruction 8570 certification preferred
