Senior IT Internal Auditor – Arlington, TX
Position Summary: The Senior Information Technology (IT) Internal Auditor, under the direction of the IT Audit Manager, will be responsible for performing IT-related internal audit projects, as part of a comprehensive internal audit plan. This responsibility includes preparing internal audit scope, performing internal audit procedures, and preparing internal audit reports. Work will also include working on the department’s initiative to implement a more comprehensive continuous auditing and data analytics program within the department. The Senior IT Auditor will play a key role in providing ongoing internal controls consulting and establishing strong partnerships with management in supporting key initiatives and projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct audit engagements from start to finish including audit planning, identification of risks and control objectives, execution of audit testing, and presentation of audit findings to key business units and management.
Develop detail testing methodologies for Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) IT General Controls (ITGC) evaluations.
Work with key business stakeholders to develop the most effective solutions to potential control gaps.
Coordinate with external audit partners and key business stakeholders on SOX ITGC testing.
Evaluate system deficiencies and communicate the results of IT audits and consulting projects via clear, concise, written reports and verbal presentations to both IT and business management.
Assess IT policies and procedures and recommend improvements to maintain regulatory / SOX compliance.
Assist in the planning and design of the audit universe and the annual audit plan.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, accounting or related field required.
4+ years of IT controls experience.
Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) preferred.
Ability to qualify for and maintain a passport
Strong working knowledge in using data analysis tools.
Solid understanding of key IT internal control concepts and experience in applying them.
Ability to work independently, with limited required direction and guidance.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively present to peers and management.
Leadership skills needed to sell ideas and obtain management buy-in for constructive change.
Ability to travel approximately 20%.
Ability to travel by car or airplane; domestically and internationally.
Prolonged sitting and standing.
Ability to spend extended periods of time working on a computer including reading and keyboarding.
