We have around 40,000 technologists in the US and India. We are developing the Technology function to an engineering-led, cloud-enabled, platform-driven organization. This future state technology organization will be geared around our corporate hubs and will provide our engineers a great place to work. In order to support this development, we are seeking a Head of Enterprise Video and Event Technology. Enterprise Functions Technology The Enterprise Functions Technology Team provides technology to the Enterprise-wide lines of businesses, functions and leaders. Business alignment includes Public Affairs, Customer Excellence, Marketing, Enterprise Risk, Enterprise Finance, Enterprise Data Management and Insights, Human Resources, Audit and Legal. With many of the functions and teams newly consolidated Enterprise organizations, business and technology transformations are a key focus. EFT's role is to partner with the business, acting as one team to deliver simple, safe and sound, innovative and integrated products and services. EFT platforms and services are foundational to Wells Fargo and required to run the company and to satisfy our customer and employee needs. We must deliver every day with high availability, speed to market, strong risk management, security, agility and with financial transparency. The Role The Enterprise Video and Events in a critical enterprise function that leads the development and support of platforms and services to facilitate the effective production and distribution of video content and communications throughout Wells Fargo and to customers. The group is responsible for supporting enterprise video studios, live event broadcasting, television services, digital signage, digital media production, on-demand video, and virtual events / conferences. These services connect and empower the company by enabling critical leader communications to employees, training and engagement through digital media and webcasting, and delivery of content to engage customers across 4,500 global branches. The Head of Enterprise Video and Event Technology will lead an organization that engineers and manages technology solutions and strategic capabilities across a wide range of video and digital media services. The leader will be accountable for highly visible, mission-critical video technologies that connect the company and our customers. The leader will drive technology strategy and the strategic evolution of capabilities to support growing demand for video and digital media communications. Critical capabilities include live event webcasting / streaming, enterprise content delivery, distribution of content and messages to global locations, digital media management, virtual event/conference support, and on-demand video. Delivery of content to employees and customers wherever they are is becoming increasingly important and we are challenged to do so in new ways and with more modern technologies. The leader will also partner with third vendors and across Technology areas, including Infrastructure and Information Security, to ensure stability and scalability of services in order to deliver content seamlessly to employees and customers. The leader will have direct accountability for managing third parties providing technology solutions in this space, with oversight of execution and technology compliance. Hundreds of video events are produced each year with millions of views by employees and customers. In branches, digital displays are estimated to have tens of millions impressions to customers per month Responsibilities This role will have primary accountability for shaping and leading an engineering team that partners closely with the Public Affairs Enterprise Video Services product management team. The solutions and capabilities developed and managed by the team support communications to over 265K global employees and millions of customers across lines of business. Key areas of focus for the role include: - Responsibility for ensuring high availability and robust resiliency architecture for critical video and media applications.
- Development of actionable, multi-year technology strategies and roadmaps in partnership with business leaders and Technology Architecture.
- Providing strategic technology perspective on industry trends, competitive landscape and market/regulatory changes leveraging industry contacts, vendors, and strategic technology partner relationships.
- Leading and growing an engineering function across locations (currently <20 FTE) with strategic partnerships across multiple business and technology teams.
- Directly leading and providing oversight for the engineering of technology solutions developed internally or by strategic third parties. The leader will ensure that we leverage available enterprise technology services with a bias towards consistency, standards and common solutions while also identifying ways to provide re-usable, scalable and secure solutions that can be leveraged across the organization.
- Managing third party technology solutions providers to ensure delivery against contractual obligations and service level agreements.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with other functional area across Technology (e.g. Infrastructure, Information Security, Technology Risk, Innovation, etc.)
- Partnering closely with technology and business leaders to ensure that technology initiatives are aligned with business, enterprise and Technology priorities.
- Demonstrating business partner value by understanding business strategy, advocating for technology solutions to advance business initiatives, incorporating internal / external customer views, and managing key financial indicators to the benefit of Well Fargo's shareholders.
- Manage and allocate appropriate people and financial resources to ensure that projects are completed within committed time and budget and align with strategic objectives.
- Assess current staff capabilities, identify talent gaps, and execute talent management actions aligned with human capital strategies.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with strategic planning in technology
- 7+ years of technology engineering experience
- 6+ years of leadership and people management experience in a technology environment

- Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
Other Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience with video streaming, enterprise content delivery, or digital signage technologies
- A Masters degree or higher in computer science or engineering
- 6+ years of experience with Agile practices
- 5+ years of systems architecture and design experience
- 5+ years of experience with modern industry-standard software engineering technologies and toolsets
- Experience with high availability architectures / patterns to ensure business continuity of technology services
- Strong understanding of technology risk practices (e.g. secure coding, access management, security)
- Experience effectively interacting with a variety of contacts, primarily with others at the executive level
- Experience building and leading teams that are geographic distributed
- Demonstrated vendor negotiation and partnership skills along with experience working with technology offshore vendor relationships
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the financial, operational, technical and regulatory drivers impacting a complex and dynamic global technology environment
- Ability to develop technology strategy, operating model & roadmaps with clear objectives and aligned with business, enterprise and technology strategies
- Broad experience across multiple areas of technology including one or more of architecture, infrastructure and application development with strong understanding of leading edge as well as legacy and distributed technologies to effectively manage a complex and diverse applications portfolio
- Highly effective decision-making/critical thinking/problem solving skills with a collaborative and results oriented leadership style
- Demonstrated ability to consult with key business partners and translate complex, technical concepts so that they are clearly understood along with the ability to effectively partner and influence at the senior executive level
- Demonstrated experience motivating and influencing groups or individuals across organizational boundaries to gain trust and confidence to make timely decisions
- Proven experience in establishing a vision, developing the strategy to support the vision, gaining consensus across key functional leadership through effective communication, and driving action towards the vision through the effective management of goals and objectives
- Excellent communication (oral and written) with ability to communicate at multiple levels ranging from technologists to senior managers and executive leadership
