The ideal candidate will enjoy all aspects of developing high quality external financial statements.  The candidate for this role is likely to be working in public accounting with relevant exposure to the financial reporting process, or has recent public accounting experience and is currently in a corporate financial reporting role.  The individual in this role can expect to have resources available to support professional growth and provide guidance in completing complex assignments.  You’ll champion the Select Medical culture of teamwork, building trust, superior quality, and show the ability to own your own future.

Responsibilities

You will be an important contributor to the accounting and financial reporting objectives of the Company.  You will have opportunities to experience personal and professional growth. You will work closely with organizational leadership to provide expertise and become influential in:

  • Preparing and filing quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements in compliance with SEC and U.S. GAAP regulations.
  • Developing disclosures and disclosure processes
  • Analyzing new standards, rules, and regulations.
    • Developing financial statement disclosures addressing new pronouncements
    • Developing executive summaries of new SEC rules and regulations
  • Preparing multiple entity consolidations
  • Assisting with the application of technical accounting matters
  • Managing internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Managing the professional development of direct reports.
  • Leveraging technology solutions such as Hyperion, Workiva, and reporting solutions

 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • Licensure: Certified Public Accountant designation or CPA candidate required
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting and financial reporting experience preferred
  • Experience in consolidating multiple entity reporting entities and developing financial statement disclosures is highly desirable.
