The Battelle Health Analytics group is seeking an Information Security Analyst to join a team of researchers located in Columbus, OH. Someone in this role is expected to: 

• Manage information security risk and maintain compliance with the various laws, policies (e.g., FISMA and HIPAA), and contracts which govern the data we receive and the systems we create
• Track and remediate security vulnerabilities, security reporting to clients, and work with Battelle’s corporate information security and technology teams to implement controls
• Perform information security risk assessments and planning
• Create and maintain system and software security controls
• Monitoring and assess system and software security control performance
• Prepare the information security section for proposals

Health Analytics supports government, academic and private industry clients in the areas of knowledge management of systems related to life sciences research, chemical and material science research, and healthcare. We expect this position to have a focus on information security to support Battelle’s contracts.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain compliance with applicable laws, especially FISMA, HIPAA, HITECH, etc.
• Maintain compliance with contractual information security requirements
• Manage information security risk on various projects
• Prepare the information security section for proposals
• Help estimate information security compliance costs for proposals
• Work with project managers to document software and system security requirements
• Participate in information security related system design efforts
• Inventory systems and information with elevated risk or compliance requirements
• Prepare system level information security risk assessments
• Prepare system security plans
• Prepare system level information security policies and procedures
• Implement system level information security policies and procedures
• Prepare and test system level contingency plans
• Coordinate system level security control assessments
• Prepare software and system security test plans
• Track and remediate system level security vulnerabilities
• Continuously monitor security posture and compliance
• Perform security reporting to clients
• Working with Battelle’s corporate information security and technology teams to implement controls
