Overview
Information Technology (NYU IT) is NYU’s central organization for technology-based services for University faculty, students, staff, and administrators. NYU IT provides computer, network, telephony and Internet services to the entire University. NYU IT is seeking an IAM Developer to support and develop our identity and access management systems. Subject matter for this role includes identifier matching and assignment; user, group and role provisioning; entitlement provisioning; account claim and password management; monitoring and auditing of access, and ensuring data cleanliness. The IAM Developer will utilize their knowledge of web development technologies and cloud solutions, as well as familiarity with Identity and Access Management at the enterprise level. This position reports to the manager of the IAM team within Enterprise Data Management. Responsibilities
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Computer Science or 6+ years work experience in Identity Management
Required Experience: 3+ years information technology implementation and development experience; broad programming experience (e.g. for operating systems, applications, and/or web development using Java and other scripting or object oriented languages); or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred Experience: Java, Javascript, Identity Management applications (preferably Sailpoint IIQ), Apache, web containers, Unix/Linux proficiency, RESTful web services, cloud technologies. Experience working with methods of authentication, authorization, and access management, including SAML2 (preferably Shibboleth), OAuth, MFA, and LDAP/ADFS. Previous experience working with any major IAM technology is highly desirable.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Should possess analytical and problem solving skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels, including non-technical users. Able to document code/work and participate in knowledge transfers.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Software development lifecycle knowledge, agile methodologies, familiarity with Git/other version control software. Demonstrated success working in a collaborative environment as well as independently. Working experience with other IAM technologies including: SSO (Shibboleth and OpenID Connect), Grouper, LDAP, Duo for MFA, SailPoint, as well as, related systems Active Directory, ServiceNow, JIRA, Web Publishing.
