The Enterprise Functions Technology (EFT) group provides technology solutions and support for Risk, Audit, Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Corporate Properties, and Stakeholder Relations business lines. In addition, EFT provides unique technology solutions and innovation for Wells Fargo Technology, Enterprise Shared Services, and Enterprise Data Management. This combined portfolio of applications and tools are continually engineered to meet the challenges of stability, security, scalability, and speed. Within EFT the Corporate Risk Technology group helps all Wells Fargo businesses identify and manage risk. We focus on three key risk areas: credit risk, operational risk and market risk. We help our management and Board of Directors identify and monitor risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and take appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company. As part of this we are enabling Operational Risk functions through the use of Technology. We will build out a common set of tools that the front line risk and control teams can use to transform Operational Risk management. We are seeking a Software Sr Engineer - Operational Risk Technology to play a leadership role in developing and implementing systems which drive this transformation. Primary responsibilities include: - Create and manage to a data strategy for the function
- Partner with business/product teams, engineers, and architecture to design applications
- Ensure the team is applying engineering best practices, including delivery approaches, quality control, solution architecture, and dev-ops automation
- Mentor other team members
- Manage issues, risks, and status in partnership with project and portfolio management functions
- Ensure applications are compliant with enterprise/technology standards and align with Technology strategy
- Developing a technology strategy which aligns with business goals
- Play a leadership role in the delivery of projects and products
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- 10+ years of financial services industry experience
- 5+ years of experience with data governance and management practices
- 3+ years of experience in data architecture and strategy
Desired Qualifications
- An industry-standard technology certification
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- A BS/BA degree or higher
- 2+ years of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) experience
- 3+ years of Big Data experience
Other Desired Qualifications
- 7+ years delivering technology solutions in financial services or another regulated industry
- 2+ years delivering cloud-based solutions (public and/or private)
- 2+ years implementing streaming / event driven solutions
- 3+ years of experience with risk technology solution design
Job Expectations
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
