The IT Auditor I reports to the IT Audit Manager and works closely with the Chief Audit Executive as requested. This is a staff position within University Audit and is primarily responsible for conducting technology related assurance and advisory projects and identifying recommendations for control and process improvements, in accordance with IIA and ISACA standards as well as University Audit procedures. This position also assists the IT Audit Manager other members of University Audit in the direction of the IT audit function and seeks to help improve the operations and achievement of UCF's strategic objectives. As necessary, this position performs IT related investigations based on the department's priority and available staffing resources.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for conducting technology related assurance and advisory projects in accordance with IIA and ISACA standards as well as University Audit procedures.
Responsible for the creation and preparation of detailed workpapers that adequately support conclusions by containing sufficient explanation of work performed and matters identified for control and process improvements.
Serves as a liaison to the university's IT community by participating on various committees, as a backup to the IT Audit Manager, and informal networking. Interact with IT personnel on a regular basis.
Assists the IT Audit Manager in developing internal IT audit processes and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable standards and best practices.
Performs backup system administration duties for the departmental audit management software.
Provides education and training to other Audit team members related to technologies used in the office and across the university.
Reports to the IT Audit Manager the status of projects.
Stays abreast of technology related best practices, changes in the industry, and technological tools and advances.
Establishes and maintains strong partnerships with other UCF departments/colleges, and collaborates with other departments performing project work.
Maintain familiarity with standard industry frameworks such as COBIT, COSO, CIS, NIST, PCI, HIPAA, and ISO.
