Cambrian is seeking an experienced IT Security professional who will assist in safeguarding Cambrian’s information and system assets by implementing security measures. The Security Officer is responsible to articulate IT compliance issues and associated risks, test and analyze control review scenarios, make recommendations and ensure appropriate oversight of controls. The incumbent will work closely with other members of the Information Systems security team and build relationships with key stakeholders across the organization such as Internal Audit, and Risk.
In the role of Information Systems Security Officer, you will:
Research, develop and review Cambrian’s information security policies and controls to ensure information protection and compliance.
Examine internal IT controls, evaluate the design and operational effectiveness, determine exposure to risk, and develop remediation strategies.
Respond to all system and/or network security breaches.
Plan, implement, monitor and upgrade security measures for the protection of the organizations data, systems and networks.
Conduct efficient and effective IT audits, perform regular audit testing and provide recommendations to enhance security practices.
Manage the administration of security policies, activities and standards.
Review, evaluate, and test application controls; provide recommendations and guidance on identified security and control risks.
Develop a strong understanding of business and system processes.
Lead and manage security standards and compliance, along with risk analysis, disaster recovery planning and event simulation.
Define, create and maintain the documentation for certification and accreditation of each information system in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Assess impacts on system modifications and technological advances, and review systems to identify potential security weaknesses, recommend improvements to amend vulnerabilities, implement changes and document upgrades.
Your education & experience:
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent combined with a minimum two years programming experience is required.
Minimum 5 years’ experience working with security breaches and vulnerability issues and a minimum of 3 years’ experience with SOC, PCI-DSS, ISO27001, and others as applicable.
CISA designation, along with experience with Financial Services are definite assets.
