The CSU Chancellor's Office, located on the waterfront adjacent to the Aquarium of the Pacific in downtown Long Beach, is the headquarters for the nation's largest and most diverse system of higher education. The salary range for this classification is $4,372 to $10,792 per month.
Operating Systems Analyst – Career
The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking an Information Security Analyst to serve as a member of the CSU information security management team and provide technical, operational, operating systems, and administrative support for the system-wide and CO information security programs. The information security analyst will analyze, recommend, and implement information security solutions and, in collaboration with campus and CO staffs, works towards improving the security posture of CSU information security programs.
Under the general direction of the Associate Director Information Security Management, the Information Security Analyst will:
-Provide production (Windows/Unix system administration) support to identify and resolve security issues.
-Security administration of various resources including network devices.
-Review and create security documentation.
-System-wide collaboration on various issues including incident response.
-Prepare time and cost estimates for proposed security projects.
-Monitor security alert and threat resources for applicable security vulnerabilities.
-Participate and promote security awareness and training; and
-Complete of special projects as directed.
This position requires:
-A bachelor's degree in computer science or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience) required.
-Current possession of active information security related certifications e.g. CISSP, CISM, CISA, GIAC etc. strongly preferred
-Five or more years' experience in information systems as an information security analyst, system administrator, application developer, or network administrator.
-A minimum of two years direct experience with application and network security.
-A minimum of two years direct experience researching, analyzing, and recommending information security solutions
-A minimum of two years' experience identifying, assessing, and remediating technical security vulnerabilities.
-A demonstrated knowledge of information security practices and concepts including intrusion detection/ prevention, access controls, risk analysis, vulnerability scanning, and data encryption.
-Ability to investigate information security events discretely.
-Ability to work collaboratively with CSU personnel and consultants
-Strong organizational excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are needed to work effectively with a wide variety of staffs, outside consultants and vendors.
