Summary of Position:
The Director of Enterprise, Applications & Infrastructure services is a technical service management position responsible for the on-going assessment of technology needs related to the University's computing systems and the management of those systems. Directs a large and diverse group of applications analysts, system and network administrators in support of University strategy and mission. Plan, facilitate and coordinate the implementation, maintenance and integration of academic, educational, and business applications used by the University. Collaborate with institutional divisions, colleges, administrative business units, and steering committees to ensure that University priorities are implemented and maintained in a cost-effective manner. Develop and recommend policies, procedures and technical guidelines. Promote the implementation of new and emerging technologies in support of the University strategy.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Management, or related discipline.
Required Work Experience:
Five years of progressively responsible management experience in a large, complex higher education or comparable environment that involved implementation and prioritization of multiple software applications, technology-related projects. Experience with related IT infrastructure including experience in telecommunications, networking, server hardware, operating systems, infrastructure software, configurations, administrative and academic computing. Experience in building and supervising talented teams. Demonstrated expertise in use, implementation, and administration of information management systems. Experience managing projects, applications integration, and database environments. Experience with data networks and server-based and cloud-based computer systems. Self-starting, strategic thinker with leadership qualities such as: skilled communicating; visionary outlook; willingness to initiate change; ability to motivate employees; tech savvy; ability to manage expectations. Ability to administer and support multiple enterprise level Microsoft on premise and cloud platforms (like Active Directory, SharePoint, Azure, and Office 365 ecosystem).

Experience with Ellucian Banner information systems, Ellucian Degree Works, and datacenter operations. Higher education experience. Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, may be considered.
Reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Prepare short and long-term IT infrastructure and enterprise application plans while reviewing current business strategies and making recommendations for improvement to the CTO. Plan, facilitate, and coordinate implementation, maintenance, and integration of university applications with staff, colleges, business units, and committees. Lead the analysis, evaluation, development and implementation of enterprise infrastructure and applications to insure alignment with academic and business units in support of the University’s mission. Ensure that special projects are completed (i.e. Disaster Recovery Planning, new project implementations, upgrades, maintenance, etc.) Participate in campus-wide business continuity and emergency management planning. Directs operations for University data center Direct and facilitate the acquisition of information technology while ensuring all technology is cost justified and consistent with short and long-term business objectives Recommend appropriate policies, procedures, and metrics for campus-wide related IT infrastructure; helping ensure IT infrastructure is reliable, scalable, and has the appropriate amounts of redundancy. Maintain and manage technical operations with appropriate support structure that provides academic and administrative units with staff assignments for university systems. Direct, motivate, delegate, empower and evaluate staff in the successful performance of their duties and responsibilities. Recommend for hire, manage, coach and develop project teams as required to ensure higher departmental performance and user service levels. Maintain strong communications and relations with the University stakeholders to ensure appropriate follow-up on service and/or support requests. Ensure users/customers are provided professional, courteous, and timely support and service. Ensures the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solutions. Forecast costs, equipment, and personnel needs for projects and programs as required. Maintain an awareness of best practices for information security management. Manages and works with contract staff and consultants as needed. Maintain and manage vendor relationships. Work with a diverse group of faculty, staff and students.
Maintain a general knowledge of all educational and business applications systems. Represent the University at various conferences and seminars relating to management and the integration of business applications. Make presentations for a variety of audiences including faculty, administrators, committee groups and external constituencies.

Experience managing project efforts using standard project management methodologies and tools Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly (written and orally) and interact with customers at all levels of the business including members of the senior leadership team Work with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.
