You will work in DWP's Cyber Resilience Centre (CRC) as an Internal/Web Enabled Fraud Analyst. DWP is the UK's biggest government department, we deliver services to millions of people every day and make payments worth over ??195bn a year.
You'll play a vital role in securing DWP systems and services including Universal Credit and other DWP Benefits, ensuring that service delivery is not affected as a result of potential malicious activity from either internal or external threat actors.
You will be part of an innovative and service-orientated team focused on the detection of web-enabled fraud attacks and malicious abuse of DWP systems.
CRC provides support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and so you will potentially be expected to work as part of an on-call rota, which may also attract occasional out of hours working. Work may involve travel to different DWP sites and Government agencies and occasional overnight stays (at our expense, not yours)
What will I be working on?
Day to day, you will respond to developing fraud threats and security breaches against the Departments IT systems, triaging and progressing potential cases of malicious activity.
You'll use analytical tools and root-cause analysis techniques within a dynamic environment, while working at the forefront of the Department's cyber protection capability.
The Internal/External Web-enabled Fraud Analyst is a critical and emerging role and you will be joining a team that is rapidly developing new skills and using the latest analytical tools to analyse the Department's data.
What skills and experience do I need?
2 year's experience of working in a Counter Fraud, Security or Intelligence environment and detailed knowledge of Universal Credit or other DWP Legacy Benefits.
Candidates will demonstrate an aptitude for analytical work with previous experience of identifying security or fraud compromises within large amounts of complex data.
Experience of working with a digital service that requires Trust in an identity, with a good understanding of how it can be assessed and manipulated.
Experience of applying business logic/root cause analysis to emerging fraud threats and linking these to the secure delivery of benefits such as Universal Credit.
Willingness to undertake BCS Certificate in Information Security Management Principle (CISMP) or equivalent qualification if not already held.
You will be required to undertake SIEM tool training if not already held.
