What is the position?
Under the direction of the City Auditor and/or the Deputy City Auditor, the Information Technology (IT) Auditor completes internal audits, reviews, and special projects with a concentration on information systems as an independent appraisal activity within the City. This position performs as a member of an audit team in conducting operational, performance, compliance, and financial audits of the various administrative departments, divisions, and programs of the City in accordance with the professional standards of Internal Audit. Professionally interacts at the executive level with department heads, division managers, City officials, and professional organizations.
What will you be doing?
Performs audits of IT general controls, application controls, information security, operating systems, database structures and functions.
Performs audits of Local Area Networks, telecommunications, pre- and post-implementations of application systems, business continuity and disaster recovery plans.
Performs or assists other audit staff on non-IT audits, audit follow-ups and special projects per the annual audit plan or mandated requests from the City Auditor/ Deputy City Auditor.
Responsible for assuring audit services are performed in accordance with the professional standards promulgated by Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS) and ISACA (formerly known as the Information Systems Audit and Control Association).
Maintains compliance with the City Auditor's Office documented policies and procedures and makes recommendations on ways to improve the audit work process.
Monitors compliance with established City policies and procedures, laws and regulations, collective bargaining agreements and all other regulatory requirements as they apply.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
What Education, Experience Licenses/Certifications do you need?
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Systems Technology/Computer Information Systems.
One (1) year of experience in IT auditing.
Active Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
Must have a valid Florida Driver's License or obtain within thirty (30) days of hire.
Familiarity with complex information systems, such as municipal financial, reporting and tracking systems is preferred
