What does an outstanding Director, Data Governance and Analytics do? As the Director, Data Governance and Analytics, you will develop our overall data strategy, manage data and analytical activities and be responsible for improving the data literacy, quality and governance of enterprise data through the data lifecycles. You will establish & ensure adherence to an enterprise data governance framework and for operationalizing data management, data access, and other data policies, standards/practices, at both the enterprise and local business unit level to achieve the required level of understanding, consistency, quality & protection to meet overall business objectives. Partnering with data owners, IT and business leaders to understand the business's strategic vision, advise in the use of data to drive insights and help in achieving business outcomes. -
Owning, developing, evolving and clearly communicating the data vision, mission and purpose; Defining, managing and advancing enterprise data management principles, policies and programs. -
Collaborating with stakeholders such as IT and business functions, develop a roadmap, investment plan and corresponding business cases and implementation plans to meet current and future information management and analytical needs. -
People Management: -
Organizing & leading the data governance council and provide leadership & sponsorship oversight of governance policy creation & compliance -
Leading the data management team including offshore teammates to ensure data governance policies & practices are embedded throughout the company -
Acting as the liaison between business & functional areas ensuring data related business requirements including protecting sensitive & regulated data are clearly defined/considered as part of operational prioritization & planning -
Supervising information stewardship activities & management of data quality, collection, retention and purposes of use Basic qualifications for consideration: -
BS in CS, computer engineering, data science, information science or related field, or equivalent work experience -
5+ years' experience in data management -
7+ years leadership experience leading cross-functional teams and enterprise-wide programs; Experience integrating complex processes and information strategies -
Broad experience in multiple competency areas of data management and governance and analytics delivery -
Data structure, information systems/tools, related software and data management -
Enterprise B2B business processes and resultant information needs Preferred Qualifications: -
Knowledge of Salesforce.com, Microsoft SQL Server tools suite -
