Fully Time Employment Opportunity Reporting to the Vice President, Information Technology Services, the Senior Enterprise Architect – Business Architecture serves as the organization’s chief strategist for Business Architecture and Enterprise Business Analysis to manage and direct the development of long-term technology plans and strategies for the entire organization, which support Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries’ business plans, goals and objectives. Duties: - Work with all levels of business and technical groups to identify information technology needs and develop technology roadmaps and strategies that support the Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries (MBLL) Strategic Plan.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of the MBLL Technology Roadmap and enterprise business architecture strategic plans.
- Identify impacts to technical strategies arising from changes in external technical and business environment (e.g. industry standards, regulations, mergers and acquisitions, trends).
- Utilize deep and wide Business Architecture and technical knowledge base to lead the development of strategies, planning and design of MBLL technologies that enable business to meet its strategic goals in an effective manner.
- Optimize within and between technology strategic plans to minimize impacts to the organization while maximizing benefits.
- Work with the Canadian Cross Jurisdictional Committee Enterprise Architecture (EA) group to advance organizational strategies and ensure organizational strategies are in alignment when appropriate.
- Support business strategic planning, and work to align enterprise business architecture with the organization’s annual Strategic Plan.
- Work to align enterprise business architecture with other technology departments (e.g., Corporate Security, Corporate Production).
- Create and maintain a list of strategies and priorities, based on business needs.
- Present on Enterprise Business Architecture work products, standards, policies, and practices to corporate stakeholder groups, management and executive management.
- Participate in the development and evaluation of RFPs for strategic technology purchases.
- Guide and oversee development, deployment and communication of EA Governance processes. Ensure Enterprise Business Architecture practices are in alignment with BABOK, TOGAF and similar industry frameworks . Recommend changes to improve EA practices.
- Guide and oversee development of EA standards and principles across the organization, and within EA domains (e.g., networks, applications, information security, management, etc.)
- Identify and report EA violations to the Architectural Review Board.
- Guide and mentor Architects and subject matter experts to ensure quality architecture in projects and strategies.
- Oversee annual architectural maturity assessments.
- Oversee deployment and maintenance of EA repository and tool-set.
- Research a range of technology options to serve identified business strategies.
- Identify most appropriate technology solutions for the organization’s business needs.
- Keep up to date with industry regulations, standards, trends, best practices, and emerging technologies by attending conferences/seminars, regularly reviewing industry publications, books, internet resources, etc.
- Develop position statements on the internal use of technology solutions.
- Ensure all policies, compliance, regulations, policies and procedures are understood and adhered to by allocated staff or contract workers.
- Carry out all duties and responsibilities of a supervisor of workers, as outlined under provincial safety and health legislation.
- Other related duties as assigned.
