We have an exciting opportunity for an Information Technology Engineer, Applications at Eversheds Sutherland (US) LLP. We are searching for someone who wants to be a valued contributor and member of a talented and dynamic team of lawyers, paralegals and business professionals.
The Information Technology Engineer, Applications will design, test and document integration solutions, and deliver effective technical support and maintenance of a variety of applications, primarily the Firm’s workstation environment. This position will be responsible for ensuring effective administration of applications and support.
Responsibilities and Duties:
This position monitors and/or administers Firm’s hardware and software resources as required, including but not limited to servers, workstations, switches, routers, printers, software, licenses, and peripheral devices by leveraging enterprise applications as follows:
Microsoft Intune – management of provisioning process for Firm production environment, including but not limited to, enrollment of hardware, applications, configurations, compliance policies and software certificates firmwide. Also used for creating automation for management of, and creating deployment packages for, a wide range of applications and the Windows OS configurations, and compliance policies considering security requirements. Administering workstation vulnerabilities and mitigating risk to the Firm by ensuring proactive remediations not otherwise covered by another enterprise application or SaaS app
PatchMyPC – management of all non-Microsoft (“3rd party”) applications as patching and updates to secure security of our environment.
Entra ID – Create and manage groups and roles for inTune and Azure access management, deployments, and other assignments for configuration and troubleshooting the desktop environment.
Lansweeper – Discovery and monitoring of all IT assets that exist within the Firm to aid and provide visibility to other teams areas of improvement for the technology estate. This includes and is not limited towards identifying SaaS apps, workstations (desktops, laptops), servers, switches, routers, licenses, web cameras, and printers. Additionally, monitoring licensing, seat availability, expired warranties, and unlicensed software and providing feedback to other teams of potential risk is included.
Azure Virtual Machine – Configuration and maintenance of Azure Virtual Machine environment to reflect the workstation environment for remote access purposes for firm users and, separately, for vendors or consultant use.
Team Member Responsibilities:
Designs, administers, documents, and maintains workstations, applications, windows-based peripherals, and their capabilities in accordance with the Firm’s Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and industry standards and best practices.
Analyzes and monitors applications, database systems, and processes for optimization, and reports on all technical issues as necessary to the appropriate IT teams.
Coordinates and supports the implementation or replacement of new software projects involving the workstation environment, including application upgrades, installations, and removals as directed.
Aids Subject Matter Experts with evaluating technical requirements and conforms software applications to meet Firm requirements and security standards.
Identifies, evaluates, and continuously monitors new technologies and applications. Recommends new technologies and applications that will increase the overall efficiency of the Firm and its technology.
Maintains detailed working knowledge of existing workstations, servers, applications, their peripherals and licenses to provide ongoing technical support and improvements as needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s degree in a computer related field from an accredited college or university is required. Equivalent combination of an Associate’s degree and experience in the computer science field will be accepted.
Microsoft Certification, MCSA is preferred.
It is desirable to have either 5 years of experience working with Windows software applications in a legal environment or to have an Associate Degree in a computer related field along with 3 years of experience.
Required Experience includes providing Windows Desktop application deployment solutions with a thorough understanding of Active Directory including replication, GPO and DNS, and Windows Server O/S; Expert knowledge of Microsoft Intune and Windows enterprise class desktop hardware and software remote management and troubleshooting, Asset management and inventory; Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking for LAN and WAN, and enterprise anti-virus solutions, endpoint data protection, and encryption; Advanced knowledge of registry, permissions, and hardware drivers and software required.
Extensive knowledge and experience with software programming languages, including SQL, DOS, Visual Basic, and batch and Powershell scripts.
Requires effective understanding and use of Windows-based workstations/ server applications, peripherals and associated applications, to include Microsoft 365, legal specific software applications, and Endpoint security packages.
Requires effective understanding and administration of Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager or MECM (formerly, Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager), Application Deployment, utilize Intune to manage application packaging and deployments, and create endpoint workstation configuration and provisioning, packaging tools or other development software, use of inventory, Collections and Deployment process design, Configuration Management Gateway and other aspects of Azure as related to Deployment tools, Windows PE environments, creation and maintenance of WIM images, bootable ISO and other tools and version monitoring. inTune Policy as it applies to Application configuration and control.
This is a remote role and the salary ranges for this position vary depending on the geographic location and other factors such as experience, internal equity, market data, and job-related considerations. The range for this position is from $82,200 - $157,000, with offers contingent upon the various factors.
