Salary Details:
Compensation is based on years of experience. The range for this position is $170,000-$200,000 annually. Managers are eligible for a discretionary bonus based on their performance during the preceding 12 months. In addition to compensation and bonuses, full-time staff are eligible for the following benefits: medical, dental, and vision insurance; life insurance; long-term disability insurance; accidental death or dismemberment insurance; short-term disability insurance; travel insurance; a 401(k) plan; profit sharing (once eligible); parental leave; vacation/personal leave; pre-tax payment/contributions for transportation, parking, and dependent care; and a health savings account (if enrolled in a high deductible medical plan). Wilkinson Barker Knauer, LLP, a top-tier regulatory law firm with offices in Washington, DC, Denver, CO, and Austin, TX seeks an IT Manager based in its Washington, DC office. The IT Manager is responsible for leading all technology operations firm-wide. The IT Manager oversees a small team of IT professionals to manage and maintain infrastructure, cybersecurity, vendors, applications, and end-user support. This is an exempt position with a 40-hour work week, the need for occasional overtime, and the potential to work remotely up to two days each week. Below is a representative list of responsibilities. Other responsibilities may be changed or assigned depending on expertise and workload, as deemed necessary by the firm.
Oversee daily IT operations, ensuring optimal performance of networks, servers, and user devices and minimizing downtime through proactive monitoring and maintenance;
Develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity policies, controls, and incident response plans and conduct regular security audits and user awareness training;
Advise leadership on emerging technologies that improve efficiency, security, and client service, including developing long-term technology roadmaps;
Administer, manage, and train users on Microsoft Office suite and other legal practice applications, including but not limited to: NetDocuments, Mimecast, Litera, LastPass, Salesforce, Constant Contact, DocuSign, and Exclaimer;
Prepare, implement, and maintain a firmwide IT budget;
Manage vendor relationships and contracts for technology operations, including selecting vendors, negotiating contracts, obtaining necessary licenses and renewals, and periodically re-evaluating vendors to ensure best fit and utilization;
Manage end-user hardware and software, including maintaining accurate inventory, responding to lifecycles, preparing sunsetting measures, and sourcing/testing/purchasing;
Serve as technical liaison for third parties on security qualifications;
Work with IT Team to ensure timely and effective execution of above responsibilities.
Qualifications The following traits and qualities will help to ensure success in this position:

Ability to supervise on-site technical resource(s) and help desk, managed services providers, and other technical consultants;
Ability to smoothly transition between leading technical efforts and hands on execution;

Excellent written and oral communication skills, including, in particular, with respect to non-technical professionals;
Exceptional customer service, interpersonal, and training skills required – with a track record of supporting lawyers and/or senior executives;
Highly self-motivated and self-directed;
Must effectively prioritize and re-prioritize work/projects and execute tasks in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment;
IT certifications (i.e., CISSP, MCSA, or MCSE) is preferred; and
Technical knowledge and experience with the following is preferred:

Microsoft Endpoint Manager/Intune,
On prem AD, Windows Server 2012 R2+,
Cisco Meraki stack,
SAN Technologies,
Datto Backup/Recovery solutions,
GAP assessment and Penetration testing,

IT security best practices, general concepts found in ISO or SOC certifications,
Cisco Secure Client VPN,
ConnectWise Remote Tools or similar remote viewers,
Azure/cloud environments,
Salesforce administration.
Requirements
Minimum of nine years of experience managing and providing IT infrastructure services and support to a multi-office/location organization; at least four years in supervisory or management role.
Project management experience in IT infrastructure is required. Experience providing IT services in a law firm is strongly preferred.
Bachelors’ Degree, or a combination of education, certifications, and demonstrable experience with various-sized IT projects and methodologies or a commensurate track record of support roles that indicate a full understanding of IT application deployment and use in a complex environment.
