Position Purpose:
Analyze, develop, coordinate and implement IT hardware and software for the OUWB School of Medicine necessary for the support of medical students, faculty, staff and administration. Support issues cover but are not limited to the areas of onboarding, servicing, and offboarding hundreds of Apple devices annually and include support involving applications, exam support, email, operating systems, network connectivity, and device security. Use Macintosh and Windows operating systems, applications and peripherals.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of two (2) years experience working with computer hardware, Macintosh and Windows operating systems, applications and peripherals.
Apple Certified Support Professional certification.
Knowledge of operating system security.
Ability to quickly and accurately diagnose and resolve problems remotely based on customer information, including hardware and software issues.
Ability to provide in-person classroom technology support.
Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with others and function well within a help desk team environment.
Must possess a valid Michigan drivers license acceptable to the University's insurance carrier.
Desired Qualifications:
Apple Certified Technical Coordinator and/or Microsoft certifications.
The ability to be flexible in a changing environment, with strong desire and ability to learn new applications and technologies quickly.
Ability to handle difficult technical situations.
Familiarity with Oakland University and OUWB School of Medicine systems, including Corewell Health East locations is a plus.
Having experience with audio visual and instructional technology hardware and software applications in a medical school environment (Anatomy Lab, Clinical Skills Center, medical student study rooms, auditoriums, classrooms) is extremely helpful.
